Coverglass

Microscope coverglass, or coverslips, are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. We have them available in plastic(see plastic coverslips) or in glass.The coverglass listed here are 22x22mm, if you are looking for 18x18mm, please email us for details. The two standard thicknesses that we offer are #1 (0.12-0.17mm) which would be about 150 slips per ounce, and #2 (0.17-0.25mm) which would be about 115 slips per ounce. Please indicate which thickness you want under "Special Instructions" on the order page.

Cargille Immersion Oil

Immersion Oil contributes to two characteristics of the image viewed through the microscope: finer resolution and brightness.

These characteristics are most critical under high magnification; so it is only the higher power, short focus, objectives that are usually designed for oil immersion.
